Каждому, кто бывал на концерте Центра творчества «Амурский», наверняка запомнилось выступление образцового хореографического объединения «Калейдоскоп». От этих ребят исходит какая-то особая, положительная энергия, заряжающая всех зрителей, независимо от их возраста. Сегодня образцовому хореографическому объединению «Калейдоскоп» — 25 лет. Самобытный детский коллектив, где занимаются 260 детей от 5 до 18 лет, покоряет всех органичным сочетанием народного танца с элементами современной хореографии. Прекрасные костюмы, великолепный подбор музыкального материала — все безупречно по исполнению, отличается великолепным вкусом и авторским почерком. Руководит коллективом прекрасный педагог Шумакова Ольга Ивановна.
А начиналось все в далеком 1996 году, когда три молодых педагога Игнатович Лилия Викторовна, Шумакова Ольга Ивановна и Давыденко Елена Юрьевна пришли в Дом пионеров Центрального района и организовали три коллектива «Веснушки», «Сюрприз» и «Фантазия», которые в дальнейшем выросли в хореографическое объединение «Калейдоскоп».
В настоящее время объединение носит звание «образцовое», которое неоднократно подтверждалось. Говорят, что творческий коллектив — это отражение личности руководителя. И в «Калейдоскопе» воплотились талант, энергия, темперамент и безграничная доброта педагогов, которые считают, что одним из важнейших направлений в работе является воспитание и развитие социально — активной, творческой личности, способной к художественному восприятию окружающей жизни, обладающей навыками и умениями хореографического искусства. Гибкий, индивидуальный подход к учащимся, помогает педагогам создать ситуацию успеха для каждого. А педагоги в коллективе замечательные, бывшие выпускники: Рахвалова Анастасия Михайловна и Козловская (Килина) Алёна Игоревна.
И конечно, нужно ещё раз сказать о прекрасных костюмах коллектива. Вот уже 25 лет их создает невероятно талантливый дизайнер и швея Чернова Людмила Александровна.

По убеждению педагогов, включение личности в систему общественных связей и отношений влечет за собой развитие способностей человека решать свои жизненные проблемы на каждом возрастном этапе жизненного пути. И, наверное, неслучайно воспитанники являются активными участниками благотворительных и социальных акций, где помогают детям из детских домов, больниц, многодетным и малообеспеченным семьям, оказывают благотворительную помощь детям оставшемся без попечения родителей, встречаются с интересными людьми нашего города.
Педагогами создана не только образовательная программа хореографического объединения «Калейдоскоп», но и воспитательная система коллектива, одним из компонентов реализации которой, является создание условий социального становления и индивидуального развития личности ребенка.
Совместные мероприятия — дети, родители и педагоги. Совместные поездки на конкурсы и концерты, изготовление реквизита, шитье костюмов, выбор подарков на праздники, все это говорит о большой и дружной семье. Имя которой «Калейдоскоп».
А география участия хореографического объединения «Калейдоскоп» обширна. Дважды привезли ГРАН-ПРИ из Испании, Турция, а в России — Москва, Санкт-Петербург, Казань, Владивосток, Сочи, Адлер, Лоо, Севастополь, Великий Устюг, Чебоксары, Кыштым, Новосибирск, Красноярск, Иркутск, Мегион, Алматы, Тобольск и мн.др.

Но педагоги и воспитанники не останавливаются на достигнутом, постоянно повышают свое мастерство и делятся опытом. На базе коллектива постоянно проводятся мастер — классы для педагогов дополнительного образования и школ города.
Ольга Ивановна Шумакова в течение нескольких лет возглавляла городское методическое сообщество педагогов — хореографов. Она является инициатором и организатором проведения городского хореографического конкурса «Вдохновение». В 2003 году Ольга Ивановна стала призером городского конкурса педагогов дополнительного образования «Сердце отдаю детям», за добросовестный труд она имеет Благодарственное письмо Министерства образования РФ, награждена медалью «Почетный работник общего образования РФ».
